Cucamelon

65 days

This was my favorite new addition last year! The incredible, 1-inch cucumber-like fruit looks just like a baby watermelon. I ended up eating all of mine fresh because they have the most irresistable CRUNCH!, but they are also good added to salads or can be pickled. They have a cucumber-like taste with a touch of lemon. The ornamental vines have tiny leaves and flowers and are perfect for the cottage garden. Very unique and fun for kids. Huge yields.

Seed Saver’s Exchange says, “The remarkable thing about this new cucumber is it’s wonderful productiveness. For every pickle that is cut off, two or three more are produced.” Six inch long, green fruits are symmetrical, smooth, and uniform. Great pickler.
